An array of stunning marine life including many distinctive species of turtles, fish, eels, sharks, jellyfish, and dolphins can be seen elegantly gliding through the reefs located just off Key West. Snorkelers swimming over the warm waters of the Florida Keys National Marine Wildlife Sanctuary can spy numerous species of dazzling polyp colonies including rust red staghorns, brain, fan-shaped gorgonian and soft corals. In addition, bits of history have been preserved in the numerous shipwrecks of the area and enhanced by local legends.
