New Snorkel and Mask Innovation

The snorkeling mask has been tweaked here and there to be more comfortable over the last couple of decades. The mask and snorkel for snorkeling just got a makeover, and we here at Key West Snorkeling Tours cannot wait to get our hands on it.

The sea is a beautiful world, and when the invention of the mask and snorkel came along, it became possible to explore, and do Key West snorkeling. There's been some minor changes in the mask and snorkel to make it fit better, or see better, but the overall design of the snorkel has not changed much. That is until recently.

Tribord, a French water sports company, has redesigned the the snorkel and mask to make it easier for patrons of the sea and oceans to explore and observe. The team at Tribord cleverly redesigned the snorkel and mask together to allow you to breathe naturally through your nose and mouth, and are calling it the Easybreath mask.

The team at Tribord even made the brilliant concept of fitting the pipe with the mask, and putting it above the head with a brightly colored piece that does two jobs at once. One of the jobs this piece does is it keeps water out when immersed in water, while also make snorkelers more visible to boaters and other swimmers.

Because the mask is so original, the mask and snorkel combo won first place at the 2014 Oxylane Innovation Awards. We can't wait to get some for our Key West snorkel!
